A varied international residency throughout my life's span from 1960 to date, born in Japan, residing in Wales (UK) then Argentina thereby educated and fluent in Spanish, followed by Holland prior to commencing my seagoing career gave me a very good grounding with the international community that makes up the seafaring community from within the Missions to Seafarers.
A Marine Specialist, Surveyor and Expert Witness, Business Consultant & Entrepreneur: with a very broad and in-depth marine industry background through family association & heritage, highly trained and experienced in the specialist marine survey & research sector, a weather analyst, including navigational training in Blind & Coastal pilotage, in addition to which a track record of seeking to improve the working environment through process integration and new safety measures, along with contributions to professional publications in association with the Nautical Institute; having experienced significant emergencies encompassing Piracy, large scale Fires, Bomb threats, Medevacs and extreme weather conditions to Hurricane force.
With visionary & entrepreneurial business skills from in-depth & detailed research work to feasibility & business case preparation and delivery including consultancy. The founding Director of the Elite World Cruise Company Ltd in 2004 which lead to the Chairmanship of Sea Vision UK, Yorkshire & Humber branch, an industry based focus group, as well as a Business Adviser to Young Enterprise.
Also, having successfully project managed many marine refits of varied complexity & scope along with the respective commissioning periods, as well as shore-based watersports facilities. Further enhanced by strong investigative skills having worked for the International Chamber of Commerce's Counterfeit Intelligence Bureau.
In recent years as a senior marine surveyor and expert witness carrying out a wide range of surveys and expert witness cases in the process; all this has provided me with a very broad skill base to draw upon, to both fulfil and enhance a wide spectrum of roles within the maritime industry.

NOAA (AMVER) Gold Pennant & Certificate awarded for high-quality weather reporting while trading in 'Hurricane Alley'; service on the Ocean Weather ship 'Cumulus' recording marine environmental readings at weather station 'Mike' — 66°N 02°E.
Navigational Specialist
Specialist vessels with British Nuclear Fuels Ltd and Naval Party 1020, including blind & coastal pilotage training of Royal Navy officers — providing close-quarter navigational skills applied in challenging and poorly charted waters such as the Straits of Magellan and the Gulf of Corryvreckan.
People First
​Fluent in Spanish as a second language, having on numerous occasions helped avoid diplomatic incidents and resolve contentious and confrontational situations when boarding the relevant trawlers.

Captain of the RV Nautilus working with Dr. Robert Ballard, who found the RMS Titanic — notably surveying the volcano north of Santorini where the caldera lies only 10 metres below the surface, demanding absolute position-keeping with two ROVs deployed.
